Always a highlight, our annual visit to Westerdale proved to be a great success with clear skies overhead instead of the fog and mist experienced last year. The journey to Westerdale proved less than straight forward, however. [Read more about Westerdale Star Party 2025]
Exciting news! Work is now well underway on the new observatory facility located in the grounds of Danby Lodge. It is hoped the works will be completed by the end of autumn.

We have a busy October Star Party schedule, with events being held in Westerdale, and two events at Whitby Youth Hostel - Weather permitting of course.
Always one of the highlights on the WDAS observing calendar, the initial scheduled visit to Hooks House was postponed due to the knock-on effects of the Moors fire, although as it turned out the night in question was wet and so no observations would have been possible anyway.
