Monthly meetings of WDAS are held at Caedmon College - Normanby Campus. Due to the prolonged Easter break at the College and other factors, there will be no meeting in April. The final meeting of the season will be Tuesday May 7th. [Read more about Society Monthly Meetings]

A couple of non-observing events were hosted by Mark during March, the first for science week at Whitby Library, the second at the new Mayfield Care Home in Whitby.
The event at the Whitby Youth Hostel on March 29th, the final outreach event scheduled this side of summer, turned out to be the successful of all those hosted at the hostel. Why? Well for once it was clear.
The North Yorkshire Moors Centre in Danby is the venue for a star party for the Dark Skies night festival. This event calls for all hands on deck – assuming the weather plays ball.
This is due to start at 18:45h until 20:45h. Transportation and instruments are therefore requested to ensure the event is successful.

In Members' monthly meetings we usually take a tour of the night sky for the coming month using the Planetarium program. Have talks and presentations on various topics of astronomy/space etc, and discuss future events etc. New members welcome.
