WDAS monthly meetings will recommence for the new season with the first formal meeting on Tuesday October 7th.  The venue is the renamed (again) Whitby School, a title that for local people from the 70s to the 2000s would associate with the Prospect Hill site! 

Start time as usual will be 7:30pm. Meetings normally fall on the 1st Tuesday each month (January aside - School break, so 2nd Tuesday), and April is dependent on the School Easter break. 

If you are new to the area and would like to join the society or have become interested in the night sky and want to take 'one small step', please do come along, you will be very welcome. 

Several speakers have been lined up this season, including our own Richard Randle on the trip down Boulby Mine to the Dark Matter facility (November) and Steve Bowden RO FRAS JP who will be giving a talk on astro-photography in December. Further speakers are planned for the New year.

Bruce Observatory Open nights will recommence on Sunday Oct 19th (7pm) the other October date, Oct 26th, being taken by an event at Whitby Youth Hostel.
