The planned Yearbook of Astronomy Convention failed to go ahead this year, but it is hoped to do so next year. Speaking of the Yearbook of Astronomy, the 2023 edition is now available. For many years edited by the late Sir Patrick Moore, then almost disappearing from the shelves, the Yearbook is now edited by Brian Jones. Packed full of articles, as well as monthly sky charts and information on what to look out for in the night sky, at £19 for over 300 pages there is a great deal to digest. Society members will be interested to learn that our collegue John McCue has two articles published in the 2023 edition.
Copies of Yearbook 2023 can be obtained from Amazon or in WH Smiths or directly from publishers Pen and Sword at https://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Yearbook-of-Astronomy-2023-Paperback/p/21511.
You can also obtain copies through the society, which are discounted to £15- Just contact Mark Dawson and we'll obtain copies for the December meeting.
