With no scheduled star parties in June due to various factors - all of which beyond our control, July will be little better. We are playing a waiting game for darker evenings, visibility of objects, and availability (no doubt the weather too). Rest assured, when 'stars align' we shall endeavour to host an event on the West Cliff.
Late July would be the earliest opportunity, but looking at my calendar, planetary apps etc, it is looking like Regatta weekend will the first outing, although we may try for August 2nd. It will still be well into August before we can observe any planet (Saturn) at a semi viable time in the evening sky, although at least by then nights will be darkening again. The society will be supporting Whitby Regatta as usual in August - further details nearer the time.
If you are new to the area and would like to join the society or have become interested in the night sky and want to take 'one small step', please do come along, you will be very welcome.
