WDAS monthly meetings have concluded for this current season, the last meeting on May 7th unfortunately having to be cancelled with several key members feeling under the weather, so apologies to all, we think most people were contacted who would likely have attended. The next formal meeting will be Tuesday October 1st.

We will endeavour to host as many star parties over the summer recess period as weather and celestial objects allow.  The summer months always present a problem regarding public star parties (light nights), but this year with all the planets hiding in the dawn sky makes matters even worse.  This leaves just the Moon and Sun to aim at.  There will be only one 'pencilled-in event' for June - Saturday 15th, a lunar/solar event starting from 20:30hrs BST on Whitby West Cliff – near Cpt Cook’s monument - as usual.

If you are new to the area and would like to join the society or have become interested in the night sky and want to take 'one small step', please do come along, you will be very welcome.
