Inaccurate forecasts and unfortunate timing disrupted September’s West Cliff star-party programme. The 19th of September event would have been clouded out anyway, although it had already been cancelled because Mark was assisting John McCue at a private DSS event, where conditions were also cloudy despite forecasts suggesting clearer skies.

The event on 12th September was more frustrating: after a completely overcast day, last-minute forecasts predicted a clear evening, but the skies did not improve until after the scheduled start. By then it was too late to proceed, wasting otherwise excellent observing conditions. Conditions were also very good on 26th September, but no event was scheduled because Mark was unavailable. Overall, September was extremely frustrating.

No Luck at all!!
