It hardly seemed a year since the 2022 WDAS society Christmas meal, (being pedantic it was 13 days short), but once again society members gathered for a festive feast to celebrate the onset of lengthening days.

Bang@#crack, hardly - Cracker pulled! John McCue and Mark. (Click for larger view)

The society Christmas meal was again held at the Hare and Hounds - Hawsker.  Nine members had signed up for festivities, Keith, Mark, and John L, arriving at the same time as Lee and Victor, joining John McCue and June in the busy bar room.  Our compliment was completed with Saul and Jill just as were being seated at our table in the restaurant lounge.

What did santa wear.....jokes and quiz questions read, and groaned about.

After being seated, Christmas cards were distributed, seemingly without the usual mix ups, Christmas crackers pulled (jokes, puzzles, and paper hats only) before starters arrived...and soon dispatched.  Main courses followed, all polished off in good order, before finally, puddings and desserts, all delicious with empty plates going back.  In-between courses, conversation ranged across many topics and as usual Keith and John L managed to capture the spirit of the occasion on camera.

Another Christnas meal consumed...another year almost done and dusted.

By 10pm festivities in the Pub were winding down and after sorting out the bill, (where we learned Mark can't count money, returning from the Bar counter cap in hand for tips), final festive goodbyes were said and we departed into the night under starry skies, waist lines a little larger!

Cheers everyone, have a Happy New Year. (click for full image)
