The Indians have landed on the Moon! - India's third lunar mission came just days after Russia's unmanned Luna-25 spacecraft span out of control and crashed into the Moon. This was an historic success however, the first robotic probe to land near the lunar south pole, 23rd Aug.  

The Chandrayaan-3's Vikram lander also carries a rover in its belly - the Pragyaan rover (which means wisdom in Sanskrit) and has already exited the lander.  The rover travels at a speed of 1cm per second and is currently traversing round a crater.

The polar region is ultimately where NASA's Artemis 3 manned mission is headed for, as it holds important minerals and crucially water ice deep within the craters there.  Water, when it’s split into hydrogen and oxygen could be used as a future fuel for missions elsewhere in the solar system. We shall more on this mission in the coming months.
